Have you tried using a plastic drywall/putty knife?
My concern would be the potential to break off the tabs though.

I had the suggestion to use the same cues as on the remote slats, because the tabs are bigger and both red and black are on the same side so you can press both with one finger. That and/or a tool are a good idea.
The tool could look something like a tuning fork. Grab the wires to lift them up, slide in the tool, press all tabs, and remove all wires. Yeah, I second that.

Jerry Zubay, or it could be a double bladed one, to press both sides at once. Maybe a rectangular shape to set the width and add strength. It could also be indexed with a longer part that would touch the plate to prevent pushing too far/hard.
That would allow the entire wire or set of wires to be removed at once.
